Gleim Aviation Supports Safety, Signs FAA Letter of Understanding

News > Gleim Aviation Supports Safety, Signs FAA Letter of Understanding

Aviation safety is a top priority for Gleim Aviation founder Dr. Irvin N. Gleim, who received the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award in 2017 after 50 years of safe flying. On November 14, Gleim officially agreed to continue promoting aviation safety and awareness by signing a Letter of Understanding with the Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team (FAASTeam).

The Gleim Aviation commitment to safety includes an agreement to collaborate with the FAASTeam to develop safety awareness training, products, and industry best practices and to provide educational safety outreach to airmen and industry service providers. Gleim and the FAASTeam provide pilots with valuable resources and information that promote the continued growth and safety of the aviation community.

Gleim Aviation has developed a library of online courses that are accepted for WINGS credits (for pilots) or AMT Awards program credits (for mechanics). “Courses such as the Pilot Refresher Course, Safe Pilot Course, and Online Communications Course are designed to help pilots increase aeronautical knowledge and develop decision making skills, thus promoting safety in the aerospace industry,” said Gleim Aviation Instructor and Aviation Marketing Specialist Paul Duty.

The FAASTeam sponsors thousands of aviation safety seminars and webinars throughout the country each year. These interesting and informative presentations focus on many different safety topics and are designed to reduce risk and increase safety in aviation operations. Gleim encourages everyone involved in aviation to participate in FAASTeam events. A search tool to find FAASTeam-sponsored events is available here.

Gleim provides complementary course certificates to FAASTeam representatives to use as door prizes as an incentive for program attendees. The certificates allow the recipient to select 1 of the 11 eligible online courses. FAASTeam Representatives and Program Managers are encouraged to use the FAA Safety Team Promotional Request Form to request course certificates.
